NYSC members die in auto crash

18 graduates of Imo State University, Southeast, Nigeria have all lost their lives on their way to Taraba state to serve their dear country. They were all members of Batch A, NYSC orientation camps who got their call up letters very late the previous day and in order to meet up with registrations etc, they decided  to board a bus together. A bus that wasn't fit to travel that long distance in such a bad road.

Do I blame them for taking such risk? No but isn't it sad that this is the way they've ended it Yet some of the corpers who arrived late to Lagos orientation camp for the same reasons that they got their call of letters late were refused entry. Must this NYSC of a thing be? How many of these youths have suffered through and graduated from uni only to lose their lives because of this so called NYSC due to Boko Haram, accidents, etc. It is very unfortunate. I have never been in support of NYSC, I'll never be in support of it because I personally don't see the use. I am of the opinion that it should be scrapped but since the government is so keen, they should please put the necessary infrastructures in place and relevant authorities should at least ensure they give the students enough time and space to prepare on embarking on the journey.  Or betters still let the students serve in the same state where they studied or in their home town.

I pray that those promising lives that yet again have been lost through NYSC RIP
