German weightlifter Matthias Steiner dropped a barbell weighing 432pounds on himself during the men's +105kg group A weightlifting. The defending gold medallist collapsed but was immediately tended to by medical officials. Miraculously, he was able to stand up and walk away to the cheers of the crowd.
He didn't return to the competition.He went to the hospital for precautionary X-rays.
