Seems the name MAULAG is here to stay despite all protests from students as it's already taking effect. 

Unilag launches online petition and goes on 2 weeks strike as protest continue + , Alumni takes government to court

Unilag students have taken their protest to Third Mainland Bridge and this has caused heavy traffic on both sides of the road. In the meantime, the university will be shut down for two weeks as all the students have been asked to leave the premises. Meanwhile, an online petition has been launched with the hope of reverting the name change. See it HERE

Protest as president Goodluck Jonathan renames University of Lagos (Unilag) as Moshood Abiola University (MAU)

According to recent reports, the Nigerian president in his Democracy day broadcast this morning has  renamed the University of Lagos to Moshood Abiola University in honour of the late man, and from the look of things, students are already protesting.  

What do you think? The name kinda doesn't sound right to me but that's just my opinion. I would love to know your views. Is this a right move by Mr. president? If it is, has he chosen the right new name for a renowned university such as Unilag??? Your thoughts below pls

According to reports, the main building of the faculty of science, Unilag, Akoka, Lagos, Nigeria was gutted by fire this morning. The cause of the fire is still unknown
